Manual Approval – A process in which all the applicants who wish to join an affiliate program are reviewed and approved manually.

Merchant – An individual or company selling products or services. Its the merchant who pays affiliates for driving traffic to merchant's website after a sale is done.

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) – It is marketing structure in which the company sells its products through a group of independent distributors, who in turn sponsor other people to do same. PPC – pay per click – This is an affiliate program where the affiliate is paid for each click he refers to the merchant's website. In other words, it is a payment method in which the advertiser pays only when his advertisement is clicked.

PPL – Pay per Lead – This type of affiliate program rewards affiliates for conversion to leads. This means the merchant pays the affiliate when he generates a lead for his website. A lead may include software downloads, surveys, sign ups, free trial or sweepstakes entry.

PPS – Pay per sale- An affiliate program where an affiliate receives a commission for each sale they refer to the merchant's website.
